Psych Nurse; RN ; Night Shift

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse will provide nursing care for psychiatric patients, including child, adolescent, geriatric and chemical dependency patients using the nursing process. Duties include assessing mental health needs, developing nursing diagnoses, identifying outcomes, planning and evaluating nursing care; administering and/or monitoring the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician; and ensuring safety and providing milieu management and crisis intervention strategies.

Full‑time Registered Nurses are sought.

• Provide leadership and direction to licensed vocational nurses, psychiatric technicians, and counselors, and direct milieu management.
• Conduct assessment of patients’ psychiatric and medical status.
• Contribute to treatment plans as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
• Document nursing care, treatment, and patients’ responses to treatment.
• Recognize signs and symptoms of mental health disorders and chemical dependency disorders and apply/utilize appropriate treatment interventions.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Associate's Degree) required; BSN preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida required.
• Minimum of one (1) year related experience required; psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Hours:
  
  Day shift 7 AM – 7 PM (rotating weekends required).
