The Progressive Care Unit llips Hospital is a 48-bed unit that provides specialized care for patients who are too stable for the intensive care unit but require more monitoring and medical attention than can be provided in a standard care unit. Types of patients treated include post-surgical patients, respiratory patients, sepsis/infections, and chronic illness exacerbations.
Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, developing an individualized plan of care, respecting diversity, functioning as a patient and family advocate, demonstrating knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care, serving as a preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and nurse clinician, communicating and collaborating with medical staff and interdisciplinary team, serving as a role model for staff, and demonstrating knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
Qualifications include a graduate of an approved school of nursing, meeting all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and the unit/department, maintaining current State of Florida RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license, maintaining current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification, and 1+ year of RN experience.
