Position: Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery FT Nights Lake Nona

Position Overview

Advent Health is launching a 60‑acre health and wellness campus in Lake Nona in late 2026. This new location brings medical innovations and comprehensive services, including emergency, urgent care, specialists, lab, imaging, orthopedics, sports medicine, rehabilitation, and destination lifestyle programs, shaping the next generation of healthcare.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients, and develop individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self‑care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Organizational and multi‑tasking skills
  • Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
  • Ability to work as a team player within a unit
  • Effective verbal and oral communication and problem‑solving skills
  • EKG (based on patient; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements)
  • Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills)
  • Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft Windows‑based programs
  • Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes
Education
  • Associate's of Nursing [Required]
  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
Work Experience
  • 1+ acute care hospital setting [Preferred]
Licenses And Certifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support - ACLS [Required]
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program - NRP [Required]
