DescriptionAmbulatory Surgery Center Registered Nurse (Per Diem) position in Orlando, Florida. This role provides high-quality, evidence-based nursing care in the operating room setting for procedures including egg retrievals, hysteroscopies, and embryo transfers.
How You’ll Contribute- Deliver high-quality, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care in the operating room.
- Assist in pre‑operative assessments and verify surgical consents.
- Perform pre‑operative, intraoperative, and post‑operative patient care duties for surgical procedures.
- Monitor patients intraoperatively and respond to patient status changes or emergencies.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, and clinical support teams.
- Perform accurate instrument and supply counts in compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain sterile field and adherence to infection control protocols.
- Document patient care in the EMR system in real‑time with accuracy and detail.
- Provide post‑operative education and discharge instructions to patients and partners.
- Participate in patient safety, quality improvement initiatives, and ASC accreditation compliance.
- Support a collaborative and emotionally supportive environment for patients and staff.
- Maintain inventory of OR supplies and recommend cost‑effective ordering strategies.
- Participate in training, development, and education for new nursing staff or surgical support.
- Current RN license.
- 1 year of recent experience in an operating room, PACU, or ambulatory surgery center setting, preferred.
- Current AHA, BLS, and ACLS certifications (or ability to obtain prior to start).
- Strong understanding of perioperative nursing principles, sterile technique, and patient safety protocols.
- Excellent critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills.
- Comfort working in a fast‑paced and high‑acuity surgical environment.
- Experience using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Professionalism, flexibility, and a collaborative spirit.
