Job DescriptionFacilitates changes in practice based on research and quality improvement findings. Identifies opportunities for research funding and seeks professional assistance for departments and individual healthcare professionals to apply for and obtain such funding. Promotes, supports, and facilitates individuals engaging in research activities to advance research in practice, evidence‑based practice, the conduct of research, research utilization, and dissemination of research results. Provides suggestions to the Professional Practice Council for research education to clinical staff, including both formal classes and informal sessions.
Provides mentoring and coaching for development of abstract submission, posters, publications, and potential projects and ideas for research questions. Provides consultation on research questions, project development, abstract presentations, poster presentations, podium presentations, and publications. Conducts an annual clinical research needs assessment and constructs a strategic plan to develop clinical research for nursing and other disciplines. Fosters the development of a practice environment conducive to the conduct of research and evidence‑based practice.
Supports institution’s efforts to improve quality care, linking research to improved patient outcomes. Works with clinical nursing staff and other disciplines to improve patient outcomes. Provides guidance, leadership, and support as an active member of the EBP/Research Council. Maintains a database of nursing and patient services department clinical research projects. Other duties as assigned.
- Doctorate [Preferred]
- Master's of Nursing [Required]
- 2+ years nursing experience [Required]
- 1+ nursing experience in a leadership role [Required]
- 3+ years nursing leadership experience preferred
- Research/EBP experience, doctoral degree, experience presenting at conferences preferred.
- Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) [Required]
