• Education/Training: Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current RN license in Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) and current Basic Life Support (BLS); certification in area of expertise preferred; may also require ACLS, PALS, NRP, or TNCC.
• Experience: 1 year as an RN required; 2–3 years in a Pre‑Post/PACU/Recovery Room or advanced care setting preferred.

• Demonstrate critical knowledge, skills, and judgment to care for patients requiring complex assessment and therapies, high‑intensity interventions, and high‑level continuous nursing vigilance.
• Utilize information and assessment data to anticipate and respond with confidence and adapt to rapidly changing patient conditions.
• Identify and prioritize information to take immediate and decisive evidence‑based, patient‑focused action.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients and interpret and record electronic displays from pumps, monitors, ventilators, etc.
• Respond to life‑saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol.
• Observe, monitor, and assess patients’ condition, recognize serious situations, and call the physician or take preplanned emergency measures when the physician is not immediately available.
• Assess patient’s needs and develop or revise individualized plans of care and evaluate progress toward expected outcomes.
• Respect diversity by building respectful relationships with all team members and customers.
• Serve as a patient and family advocate.
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of the patients served.
• Serve as preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and/or nurse clinician.
• Communicate and collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary team to effectively plan and manage the unit/department.
• Serve as a role model and support the hospital and nursing department’s goals and strategies.
• Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles over the lifespan and interpret data to identify each patient’s age‑specific requirements.
• Coordinate care and delegate as appropriate to other team members for a defined group of patients.
• Document patient care consistently and in accordance with regulatory standards, including assessment, education, medication administration, treatments, and patient safety.
• Demonstrate competency in nursing skills and use of unit equipment as required by the unit/department.
• Prioritize patient care continually in accordance with Evidence‑Based Practice Standards of Care.
• Practice effective problem identification and resolution.
• Delegate tasks and duties to the healthcare team according to patient needs and team members’ abilities.
• Communicate relevant information about patient condition or unit concerns to other health‑care team members.
• Provide compassionate and therapeutic care for patients and families.
• Demonstrate awareness of legal issues and patient rights.
• Collaborate with the education department and nursing leadership to transition and support new team members and/or students.
• Maintain regular, punctual attendance in line with Orlando Health policies and federal, state, and local standards.
