• Education:
  
  Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BSN) preferred.
• Licensure:
  Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
• Certification:
  Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certification:
  Preferred certifications in area of expertise.
• Certification:
  Potentially required:
  Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC).
• Experience:
  
  Minimum one year as a Registered Nurse; 2–3 years in an Emergency Department setting preferred.

• Demonstrate critical knowledge, skills, and judgement to care for patients requiring complex assessment and therapies, high‑intensity interventions, and continuous nursing vigilance.
• Utilize information and assessment data to anticipate and respond effectively, adapting to rapidly changing patient conditions.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment, interpreting key displays such as intracranial pressures, central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, cardiac rhythms from monitors, respirators, ventilators, oxygen pumps, etc.
• Respond to life‑saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol.
• Observe, monitor, and assess patients’ condition, recognize, identify, and interpret serious situations and call Physician or take pre‑planned emergency measures when Physician is not immediately available.
• Assess patient’s needs and develop/revise an individualized plan of care based on patient needs and responses. Evaluate the patient’s progress toward attaining expected outcomes.
• Respect diversity by building respectful relationships with all team members and customers.
• Function as a patient and family advocate.
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on assigned unit or department.
• Serve as a preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and/or nurse clinician.
• Communicate and collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary team to effectively plan and manage the unit or department.
• Serve as a role model for staff and support the hospital and nursing department’s goals and strategies.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, assess the data reflective of the patient’s status, and interpret the necessary information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age‑specific needs.
• Coordinate the care and delegate as appropriate to other team members on a defined group of patients.
• Document patient care in a knowledgeable, skillful, and consistent manner meeting all required and regulatory standards. This includes but is not limited to patient assessment, education, medication administration, treatments, and patient safety.
• Demonstrate competency in nursing skills and use of patient care/unit equipment as defined by unit or department‑specific requisite skills.
• Prioritize patient care in an ongoing manner in accordance with Evidence‑Based Practice Standards of Care.
• Practice effective problem identification and resolution.
• Delegate tasks and duties to healthcare team members in accordance with the patient’s needs and the team member’s capabilities and qualifications.
