The Assistant Nurse Operations Manager (ANOM) is responsible for the management of their designated unit/department, including nursing practice and administrative oversight of the area. In conjunction with the Unit/Department Nursing Operations Manager, the ANOM provides guidance and direction on all aspects of unit operations including customer experience, budgetary performance, human resources activities, shared leadership, and quality outcomes.

Responsibilities include shared 24/7 accountability with the Nursing Operations Manager, participation in the recruitment and selection of new team members, coordination with Human Resources on corrective actions, oversight of schedules, maintenance of patient flow, nurse leader rounds and reviews, participation in process/quality improvement initiatives, upholding the customer experience, interfacing with patients and families, participation and/or leadership in staff meetings, GEMBA board, or huddles, performing direct patient care activities as required, possessing excellent interpersonal skills, ensuring incident reports are completed appropriately, maintaining compliance with Orlando Health policies, expressing ideas clearly and effectively, advocating on behalf of the nursing staff, implementing strategies that promote education, health, and safety, fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion, demonstrating collaborative and collegial relationship skills, engaging staff in decision-making, exhibiting effective conflict resolution skills, role modeling professional behaviors, serving as a mentor to coach team members and colleagues, promoting a safe working environment, managing various human resources functions, assisting with clinical evaluations, ensuring compliance with certifications, licenses, and required education, influencing team members to enhance their abilities and promote professional development, supporting the Professional Practice Model values, superior clinical and critical thinking skills, monitoring compliance and outcomes, leading the team on process/quality improvement initiatives, managing time and resources efficiently, promoting cost effective management of equipment and supplies, participating in activities that promote personal and professional growth and development, maintaining active membership in a professional organization, and upholding ethical standards of practice.

Qualifications include a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with a Graduate degree in Business or health-related field or Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) required if no Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN). Required two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute setting.

Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. May require one or more of the following certifications based on the assigned patient population:
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC).
