RN II – Ambulatory (Otolaryngology ENT, Full-Time) – Orlando, Florida
Nemours is seeking a RN II to join our Nemours Children's Hospital team in Orlando, Florida. The 100‑bed pediatric hospital features a 24‑hour Emergency Department designed just for kids and outpatient pediatric clinics in several specialties.
Our hospital blends the healing power of nature with the latest healthcare innovation to deliver world‑class care to children of Central Florida and beyond. We also provide specialty outpatient care in several clinics located throughout the region.
As RN II, you will provide and coordinate individualized nursing care in partnership with the child and family and other community resources. You will consider individual, cultural, ethnic, and religious values and beliefs in planning and delivering evidence‑based care to pediatric patients and the disease‑specific population.
In addition, you will serve as program manager responsible for the smooth day‑to‑day operations and administration of the program. This includes running the program, submitting reports, directing staff, training, scheduling, and developing policies and procedures consistent with program objectives. You may need to travel to satellite locations as needed.
Job Responsibilities- Develop and manage operational activities of an assigned program or specialty; make decisions on specific operating problems and issues instructions in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Plan, develop, and implement goals and objectives of assigned program in conjunction with the appropriate division director and/or department head.
- Evaluate program objectives on an ongoing basis and implement changes as needed to meet or revise these objectives.
- Plan and conduct meetings with staff to ensure compliance with established practices and keep associates abreast of current standards.
- Develop appropriate training and orientation programs.
- Compile and maintain records, reports, and documentation of program activities to be used for program evaluation.
- Responsible for the care of patients within specific population.
- Utilize the nursing process as a basis for providing and evaluating nursing care; apply knowledge of growth and development, pathophysiology, and family dynamics in delivery of care.
- Document all aspects of nursing care delivery appropriately.
- Provide leadership, staff education, and support to division nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals.
- Assist with phone triage, medical refills, patient calls and clinical care as required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or active enrollment in a BSN program with a completion date within 12 months of hire required.
- American Heart Association BCLS Certification required.
- Current Florida RN License in good standing.
- Minimum of 1 year to 3 years of experience required. Minimum of 2 years clinical experience, pediatrics preferred.
- Travel to satellite locations may be required.
