RN Interventional Radiology Department Part-Time (ORMC)

Position Summary

Orlando Health’s Interventional Radiology (IR) Department uses advanced imaging technologies—including X-ray, CT, and ultrasound to perform minimally invasive procedures that offer patients shorter recovery times and fewer complications compared to traditional surgery.

The IR team specializes in procedures such as feeding and drainage tube placement, neuro-interventional services, venous access (ports, tunneled lines), tumor ablations, biopsies, and a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. Their expertise also includes embolization for emergent trauma patients and stroke intervention (thrombectomy).

• Thrive in a fast‑paced environment and provide specialized nursing support for diverse IR procedures in the pre, post, and intraprocedural settings.
• Have a minimum of 2 years of experience practicing in a Stepdown level unit or above. Interventional Radiology, ICU, Stepdown, Cath, OR, or Emergency Nursing areas are ideal.
• Demonstrate strong critical‑thinking skills, proficiency in IV starts, port access, and administering moderate sedation.
• Exhibit excellent assessment and troubleshooting skills for complex medical conditions related to planned procedures.
• Independently manage patients before, during, and after procedures while recognizing critical‑care needs and potential complications—collaborating with the multidisciplinary team as needed.

Work Schedule: Part-Time Nurses work 3x9 hour shifts a Week Mon-Fri. Start times vary from 0630, 0700, and 0730.

• Nurses must be able to respond onsite within 30 minutes of notification for emergent cases.
• Eight (3-4) on‑call shifts are required within each 6‑week schedule period.

Closing Shift Requirements:
Four (1-2) closing shifts are required per 6‑week schedule period.

• The Interventional Radiology department is closed on the six Orlando Health–observed holidays and all weekends.
• Required to work 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays per 6 weeks
• Designated on‑call teams provide coverage during these times to support emergent procedures.
