PrimaryJob Responsibilities
- Serves as a resource for clinical inquiry process, including identification of potential projects, and/or subject matter expertise. Demonstrates a "spirit of inquiry" to support professional curiosity including research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement initiatives using the organization's preferred structure, i.e. PDSA (plan, do, study, act). Works with others to identify problems and solutions and collaboratively create and assists in the implementation of the changes planned.
Creates a supportive environment for nursing research, scientific inquiry, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice. Disseminates evidence-based practice findings through educational programs, courses, and other activities. Other duties as assigned. - Creates, plans, implements, and coordinates orientation for individuals new to the nursing unit/department using the ANPD standards of practice including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation with the NPD Practice model using inputs, through puts, and outcomes to ensure a systematic approach to onboarding orientation. Adjusts implementation strategies as needed based on the learner's developmental level, learning needs, readiness, ability to learn, language, and cultural preferences.
Engages learners in planned educational activities through use of effective facilitation skills. - Creates, plans, implements, and coordinates activities related to training of new graduates, experienced nurses and ancillary staff new to the unit/department based on collection of data that is used systematically and purposefully to ensure relevant and evidence-based learning for each clinician. Develop/coordinates education plans related to initial and ongoing competency validation. Activities include coaching of new nurses, facilitation of learning, using simulation, and tools that capture objective and subjective data about the individual's knowledge base and actual performance.
Utilizes clinical problems to promote inquiry/investigation and improvement, follows through with competency assessment of new/changed skills and concepts.
