Orlando Health Sebastian River Hospital is a comprehensive 178-bed acute-care facility located in Sebastian, Florida. A major hospital expansion in 2020 added 48 private patient rooms and enhanced surgical capabilities with additional operating suites and procedure rooms, new preoperative and postoperative patient bays, and the latestadvanced surgical technology. A full-service ER treats minor to major conditions, including heart attack and stroke, and the hospital has earned Advanced Primary Stroke Center accreditation from The Joint Commission.

Position

Summary

The Advance Practice Provider practices medicine under the direction of physicians and/or surgeons that helps with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments, and consultations

Responsibilities
  • Assists in providing care for patients receiving radiation treatments; writes appropriate orders, including those for perioperative orders, narcotics, stimulants, and depressant drugs.
  • Performs emergency life-saving procedures in cases such cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, massive hemorrhage, or similar catastrophe.
  • Performs daily rounds independently or with attending physicians and/or students.
  • Daily tasks to include:
    Perform detailed H & P examinations and document inpatient H & P and discharge summaries in the medical record. (Must be reviewed and countersigned by supervising medical staff member within 24 hours and may not be substituted for physician H & P).
  • Daily tasks to include:
    Initiate appropriate actions to facilitate implementation of therapeutic plans, consistent with healthcare needs of the patient
  • Daily tasks to include:
    Performs examination for follow-ups and patients receiving radiation treatments.
  • Daily tasks to include:
    Review medical records of patients of the supervising medical staff member.
  • Daily tasks to include:
    Routine patient rounds to monitor and evaluate clinical status; change in status to be reported to supervising medical staff member for management (may not be substituted for physician rounds).
  • Daily tasks to include:
    Notifies attending physician about unusual or unexpected events or problems requiring direct physician consultation.
  • Daily tasks to include:
    Dispense/prescribe medication, as authorized by supervising medical staff member.
  • Daily tasks to include:
    Issue oral and written orders on behalf of the supervising medical staff member, to be reviewed and countersigned by the supervising medical staff member within 24 hours.
  • Daily tasks to include:
    Write or dictate reports and progress notes appropriately in the medical record
  • Daily tasks to include:
    Scrub with supervising surgeon in operating room.
  • Daily tasks to include:
    Remove catheters, drains, sutures, and staples.

    Surgically close wounds, incision and drainage, debridement, dressing…
