Terms:

12-month Full-time Employment Contract Required for Sign-On and Relocation_

Sign-on Eligibility:

+ Must live 50 miles outside of campus address

** Unit Highlights:*
* + Advent Health Orlando Cardiovascular Surgery has 7 CVOR's and one hybrid one.

+ We perform a full array of cardiovascular surgeries including bypass, valve replacement/repair, TAVR, heart transplant, lung transplant, multi-organ transplant, VAD insertions, Impella transplant, ECMO     and pediatric congenital heart procedures. Ventricular assist device, Impella insertion, Aortic aneurysm repair & aortic dissection

+ The thoracic line has 3 OR's, one equipped with a Davinci XI robot.

+ A variety of lung esophageal, and chest procedures are done including HIOC (heated intraoperative chemotherapy) cases for mesothelioma.

+ We performed over 3,600 Cardiovascular and thoracic specific surgeries last year. Our Cardiovascular program is recognized as an ELSO Center of excellence for both adults and pediatrics, has a Nationally accredited TAVR program, and our heart transplant team is ranked 5 _th_  in the nation.

+ Maintains good relationships with physicians, management, other departments, and staff, and investigates and responds to complaints in a timely manner.

+ Actively participates in Cardiothoracic Service Line Performance Improvement projects and completes at least one project annually to improve outcomes and quality for Cardiothoracic patients.

+ Supports customer and employee satisfaction activities of the organization.

+ Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and keeps the circulating nurse informed of any needs throughout a procedure.

+ Assists the team with safe and appropriate operating room turnover times in an efficient and organized manner.

+ Directs ancillary personnel participating in room turnover and provides assistance and support as needed to members of the surgical team.

+ Supervises other healthcare team members in the surgical environment and assists with orientation, training, and education of new personnel.

+ Promotes a safe environment, takes appropriate action in emergency situations, and identifies and reports environmental concerns to management.

+ Follows CDC isolation guidelines, uses PPE appropriately, performs hand washing according to policy, and monitors aseptic technique of the entire surgical team.
