Four days dedicated to teaching and academic work, plus one clinical day each week. This day may be used for clinical practice at market rates or taken as personal time. - Develops, reviews, and revises nurse anesthesia policies and procedures in collaboration with the Program Director.
- Recommends budget requests to ensure adequate resources for faculty and preceptors.
- Assists with maintaining the nurse anesthesia course of study in compliance with accreditation standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Documents, reviews, and maintains current student clinical experiences, faculty, preceptor, and student records. Identifies and recommends appropriate clinical faculty and community agency linkages for student learning experiences.
- Visual and auditory skills to use computer and other presentation equipment including telecommunications. [Required]
- Ability to ambulate between and within campus buildings and travel within city, state and nation. [Required]
- Professional verbal and written communication with university administration, faculty, staff, and others internal and external to the university [Required]
- Outstanding organizational and administrative skills [Required]
- Proficient in the efficient use of computer programs related to educational duties which includes, but is not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, database management, complex data computation, analysis and graphics, presentation development, and online/distance learning technology. [Required]
- Able to organize, interpret, and utilize data to report to accrediting bodies, state and national organizations, and certification bodies. [Required]
- Cooperatively works as a team member [Required]
- Self-directed and skills in writing and consultation [Required]
- Typhon or similar Nurse Anesthesia Case Tracking System [Preferred]
- Prior participation in Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs (COA)
Self-Study [Preferred]
- Doctorate of Nursing [Required]
- Relevant Doctoral degree
- in the Nurse Anesthesia specialty
- 1+ of recent experience in nurse anesthesia education administration [Preferred]
- 3+ current experience in clinical practice as a CRNA [Required]
- 3+ recent experience in nurse anesthesia education [Preferred]
- 5+ current experience in clinical practice as a CRNA [Preferred]
