The Opportunity

The solution quality lead will strengthen and sustain execution excellence across the Advanced Power Generation (APG) portfolio by embedding quality discipline, predictability, and right‑the‑first‑time execution across the full project lifecycle. This role champions that best‑in‑class quality is a primary safety control and a foundational requirement for achieving and sustaining zero injuries—ensuring quality‑driven safety is embedded in how work is planned, executed, and verified.

Reporting to the APG Solution Portfolio Lead, this role supports execution of approved portfolio strategies by driving solution‑level quality leadership spanning engineering, supply chain, construction, commissioning, and turnover. The APG Solution Quality Lead works in close partnership with the Quality Management team to ensure consistent application of quality standards, leading indicators, and continuous improvement practices without duplicating project or field quality execution roles.

Execution experience is critical, as this role anticipates quality‑driven risks that impact safety, cost, schedule, and client confidence, and proactively drives mitigation across APG projects.

Key Responsibilities

Clients

  • Reinforce quality and execution excellence as differentiators for APG clients, emphasizing that first‑time quality is a primary safety control.
  • Support client‑facing discussions related to quality strategy, execution risk, and lessons learned, including the linkage between quality discipline and safe execution.
  • Partner with APG leadership and project teams to translate client quality expectations into practical execution strategies.

Organizational Effectiveness

  • Execute and evolve APG solution‑level quality strategy aligned with portfolio objectives, including zero‑incident safety culture.
  • Promote Quality Assurance as the foundation for exceptional performance.
  • Strengthen a culture of quality, accountability, and psychological safety across APG projects, empowering professionals to raise concerns early and stop work when quality or safety is at risk.
  • Drive adoption quality‑driven planning and leading quality indicators into all work packages.
  • Own APG solution‑level visibility into cost of quality and rework, highlighting the direct relationship between poor quality, disrupted work, and increased safety exposure.
  • Serve as the primary APG interface to the Operations Quality Management organization.
  • Promote continuous improvement through capability development, root cause analysis, and lessons learned.

Execution

  • Support execution planning by embedding first‑time quality expectations that reduce rework, congestion, schedule compression, and out‑of‑sequence work that elevate safety risk.
  • Partner with Project Managers, Engineering, Supply Chain, Construction, and Operations Quality through project closeout to ensure predictable, safe execution.
  • Improve procedural adherence to eliminate or reduce rework.
  • Partner with Operations and EHS on quality‑related incident investigations.
  • Enable proactive project assessments and self‑checks that evaluate quality readiness as a leading indicator of safety performance.
  • Champion quality‑based stop‑work responsibility as a critical safety control when standards, procedures, or conditions introduce unacceptable risk.
  • Drive closure and effectiveness validation of corrective actions to ensure sustained improvements in both quality and safety performance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in EPC project execution within power generation or heavy industrial environments.
  • Strong understanding of how quality discipline, planning rigor, and predictable execution directly influence safety outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across matrixed organizations without direct authority.
  • ASQ CCQM
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include…
