The Signature Management team in Orlando, FL is seeking a Low Observables/Survivability Engineer to perform the development, materials research, design, manufacturing and test of Low Observable components and vehicles. The candidate will work independently and in small teams and participate in Government forums and internal program reviews.

In This Position You Will

  • Generate, analyze, and convey vehicle signature predictions using Unix‑based tools and custom scripts for batch processing and post‑processing.
  • Develop, test, and maintain signature‑prediction algorithms and software across C++, C#, Java, Fortran, MATLAB, and Python.
  • Research, design, and model advanced electromagnetic metamaterials; fabricate prototypes and conduct performance testing.
  • Plan and execute laboratory measurements on material coupons to assess physical, electrical, and environmental characteristics.
  • Lead the acquisition, processing, and reporting of laboratory and vehicle signature measurement results.
  • Utilize CAD software for model cleanup, meshing, and preparation for simulations.
  • Support the production team with development tasks and failure‑analysis investigations as needed.
  • Coordinate with ESH and procurement teams to manage material purchasing, handling, and compliance.

The position requires strong verbal and written communication skills for final reports and technical briefings to large groups of technical and non-technical audiences. The candidate will be expected to have customer/client interaction. The candidate will develop and execute R&D plans to meet needs defined by management or by the customer and concisely describe a plan for implementing the technical approach, and provide reasonable cost/schedule estimates for the work required.

There will be frequent travel needed to support this role (~25% of the time).

Our Signature Management group is unique in that we support a variety of responsibilites when it comes to the survivability of our products delivered to the warfighter. In this role, you will be developing and sharpening your skills in analysis, materials research, production, radar cross section test, and communication. You will be exposed to government customers, senior leaders, and experts in the field of survivability across Lockheed Martin.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
  • Active or ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance.
