Store Manager – Campus Store

Valencia College is seeking a full-time Store Manager to join our dedicated Campus Store team at West Campus. The role is responsible for ensuring a welcoming, efficient, and high‑quality retail experience for students, faculty, and staff.

Responsibilities

Manage the overall Campus Store operation, including shipping and receiving of all store merchandise.

Assist in creating and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) for campus store operations.

Manage and supervise sales associates, work‑study employees, and temporary help, including hiring, training, and scheduling.

Ensure positive and consistent customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving complaints.

Oversee department projects and services (passport program, notary services, ambassador program, etc.).

Maintain proper inventory levels of all items for resale and manage purchasing of convenience items.

Oversee point‑of‑sale, payment, and campus store management systems, including credit card processing.

Act as director’s liaison for the assigned location.

Maintain internal controls for payment collection and safeguard against loss; enforce cash safe procedures.

Plan and lead inventory counts and train team members on counting procedures.

Oversee cash receipts, inventory, sales reporting, and transaction reconciliation; generate daily cash reports.

Present new trends or products to internal and external customers.

Maintain communication with staff and other managers to ensure consistent operations.

Supervise loading and unloading of items from the smart locker; train users and troubleshoot as needed.

Maintain the back‑office campus store management system during daily retail processes.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate

Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution, or equivalent combination of related education, training, and/or experience.
Two (2) years of experience in retail or related areas, including ordering, pricing, merchandising, sales, customer service, general accounting, inventory controls, and supervising.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of supervising/leading employees.
General understanding of purchasing and inventory control principles.
Knowledge of store operations and procedures.
Excellent customer service skills with strong verbal and written communication.

Additional Information

This position operates in a fully onsite environment.
