Casting actors for "A Lesson in Humility" student film. Only local talent will be considered. This is a non‑union casting call. Shooting dates:
July 7‑9, 2026, Orlando, FL. When applying, please include a video audition and headshots.
Protagonist. Attends high school in the morning and works a part‑time shift at a clothing store. She feels restricted by her mother, Lucia, which fuels a rebellious and hostile attitude. She disregards curfews, runs around with boys, and parties with friends in clubs. She dreams of leaving her family behind to live independently.
Freddie (20‑24 years old, male)All ethnicities. A college sophomore and Marcela’s boyfriend. He meets deadlines, respects his parents, and manages finances responsibly. Although he doesn’t always support Marcela’s ideas, he remains supportive during her lowest moments.
Lucia (43‑47 years old, female)All ethnicities. Marcela’s mother, hardened by experience. Her strictness is intended to protect her daughter from repeating her own mistakes. While she loves Marcela, she is tired of her rebelliousness and will put an end to it if necessary.
