Construction Cost Control Manager

Job Description

Insight Global is currently seeking a Construction Cost Control Manager to join a client in the construction and specialty contracting industry. This individual will split time between the field and office, traveling to active jobsites to evaluate project performance, financial health, and execution efficiency. They will be responsible for identifying cost overruns, budget gaps, and operational inefficiencies, then translating those findings into clear, actionable insights for leadership.

The role requires regular interaction with project teams to understand real‑time conditions while also providing structured reporting to executive stakeholders. This person will act as a bridge between operations and finance, ensuring transparency and accuracy in project forecasting and cost tracking. They will manage multiple projects simultaneously across different locations, requiring strong independence and organizational skills. Success in this role depends on maintaining a hands‑on presence in the field while delivering high‑level financial visibility to the business.

• 5–10+ years of relevant construction/project management and financials experience (Cost Controls experience)
• Strong understanding of project financials and cost controls
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, or related field (Highly Preferred)
• Construction Project Management experience
• Ability to identify cost overruns, budget deficiencies, and inefficiencies in project execution
• Experience working both in the field and office environments
• Willingness and ability to travel to jobsites regularly
• Strong communication skills with ability to present findings to leadership
• Ability to work independently across multiple projects and locations
• Experience evaluating project performance and financial risk
• CCP (Certified Cost Professional) certification OR CCM (Certified Construction Manager) certification OR PMP (Project Management Professional)
• Experience supporting executive-level reporting
• Experience with budget forecasting and financial modeling
• Background in commercial construction, drywall, ceilings, metal framing, or specialty contracting
