Job SummaryThe Inside Sales Engineer provides customer sales and support for commercial contractor sales of HVAC equipment, parts and supplies. This entry‑level role invites recent engineering graduates to apply their technical knowledge in a real‑world commercial setting, collaborating closely with the sales team as a technical advisor and product advocate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Respond to new business opportunities based on sales leads and generate quotes for commercial sales.
- Assist Account and Sales Managers with new and existing accounts, introducing new products to engineers and mechanical contractors.
- Prepare bids, submittals and take‑offs from plan reviews and specifications.
- Follow up on quotes, bids and submittals to finalize sales.
- Engage extensively with customers, manufacturers and the sales team via phone and email.
- Assist with training for commercial dealers as needed.
- Resolve customer issues in alignment with the company’s mission, values and financial objectives.
- Identify and communicate customer needs and sales opportunities to drive future growth.
- Travel with the sales team as required for presentations and trade‑show activities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read architectural, mechanical and electrical blueprints.
- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical control systems.
- Maintain expert‑level product knowledge and application expertise.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with CRM/database tools.
- Experience working with contractors is highly desired.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the competence to make recommendations.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field (recent graduates encouraged to apply).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- 0‑5+ years of commercial HVAC engineering, applications experience or technical knowledge of HVAC (recent graduates with strong foundational knowledge welcome).
