This Outside Food Sales Representative position is located in Brevard County, FL. The role involves cultivating relationships, developing new business opportunities, and providing innovative solutions to customers while supporting Gordon Food Service’s goals.
Responsibilities- Pursuing New Customers
- Research industry and market trends affecting restaurants in your territory.
- Identify and research prospective customers.
- Develop sales strategies that highlight GFS products, services, values, and solutions.
- Present the sales strategy to prospective customers.
- Deepening and Strengthening Existing Customer Relationships
- Visit all customers within the assigned territory on a weekly, bi‑weekly, or monthly basis.
- Conduct business reviews to determine customer needs and identify growth opportunities.
- Provide ongoing training to customers on GFS product offerings.
- Identify opportunities where GFS can add value through product and service offerings.
- Sales Territory Management
- Balance new customer acquisition with deepening existing relationships.
- Coordinate visits to prospective and existing customers.
- Communicate order status and order processing updates to customers.
Gordon Food Service’s goal during your first 90 days is to set you up for success! Training includes e‑learning, classroom sessions, video roleplays, job shadowing, and peer mentorship. You will learn:
- How to use GFS systems, processes, and tools to manage customer relationships.
- The products available to GFS customers.
- The sales process for engaging new customers.
- How to establish relationships within the vast network of resources available to you as a GFS sales representative.
- Best practices on developing relationships with current and prospective customers.
- Strategies for effectively managing your territory.
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or culinary certificate preferred.
- 1 year of prior sales, business, or food service experience.
- Valid, unrestricted state driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Must participate in the company vehicle reimbursement program (if applicable) and maintain required insurance levels.
- Ability to obtain food safety certification.
