Sales Specialist (Traveling)
Responsible for driving occupancy and revenue growth by supporting sales efforts across multiple communities. This role combines direct sales responsibilities with direct sales execution, including relationship‑building with prospective residents, families, and referral sources, strategic planning, and potential business development. The Sales Specialist ensures a positive customer experience, effective team collaboration, and consistent achievement of community census goals.
Top Responsibilities- Deploy to communities in need of immediate sales support, stabilization, or occupancy growth, as directed by the SVP of Sales.
- Highly organized, managing travel logistics, schedules, and competing priorities efficiently across multiple locations.
- Demonstrate strong stewardship of company resources by managing travel expenses responsibly and making thoughtful, cost‑conscious decisions.
- Pivot quickly and effectively as community needs, priorities, and assignments shift.
- Quickly assess on‑site sales performance, identify gaps, and implement targeted action plans.
- Take full ownership of lead management, tours, and follow‑up while on assignment.
- Drive move‑ins through strong conversion skills and consistent execution of the sales process.
- Achieve monthly move‑in, occupancy, and revenue goals by meeting or exceeding sales metrics.
- Present the community to prospects and families using relationship‑based sales techniques.
- Oversee all aspects of move‑ins, including room readiness, paperwork, orientation, and communication with residents, families, and internal teams.
- Maintain accurate and timely CRM documentation of leads, referrals, and follow‑ups.
- Lead and support a culture of customer service across all departments; ensure every associate understands their role in sales and resident satisfaction.
- Deliver training and coaching to staff on customer service, inquiry handling, and tour techniques when necessary.
- Partner with the Executive Director and department heads on strategy, the move‑in process, and move‑in readiness.
- Prepare and review weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales and census reports as needed.
- Track and maintain collateral, promotional materials, and event resources.
- Oversee departmental budget management and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets in a competitive environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, public speaking, and presentation skills and professional presence with a customer‑service mindset.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Relationship‑building skills with the ability to influence and gain trust.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of senior living sales leadership or comparable sales management experience.
- Demonstrated success in relationship‑based sales, business development, and team management.
