Responsibilities
  • Monitor new business development for North America and local business accounts, focusing on new and existing customers.
  • Deploy comprehensive knowledge of product lines and services.
  • Advise on sale of sophisticated, integrated solutions and products.
  • Prospect and work with the existing customer base.
  • Review jobs sold and daily admin activities.
  • Coordinate with other representatives on projects.
  • Secure profitable sales, upgrade new, existing, and discontinued Johnson Controls commercial customers within assigned territory while maximizing customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Mentor newer sales associates as directed by the Commercial Management team.
  • Work on fire and integrated technologies to meet rep and customer needs and assure Johnson Controls’ profitability.
  • Adhere to current Johnson Controls policies, procedures, products, programs and services.
  • Create market share by selling a broad range of products and services to new local commercial customers.
  • Sell additional products and services to existing accounts, including add‑ons, amendments, and conversions to meet expectations.
  • Renew existing customer agreements.
  • Review resale opportunities within assigned territory.
  • Sell products consisting of integrated video surveillance, access control, and fire sales within the territory.
  • Review fire jobs, ensuring NICET certification and local municipal code compliance.
  • Identify prospects using creative lead‑generating techniques and maintain productive relationships with existing customers.
  • Utilize approved marketing materials in the Commercial Model Sales Call process.
  • Follow up with prospects in a timely manner.
  • Independently establish call plans and customer follow‑up strategies and tactics.
  • Maintain in‑depth knowledge of product lines and customer needs through training, networking, research.
  • Obtain referrals and work with centers of influence.
  • Process work orders and complete paperwork in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Conduct post‑installation follow‑up to ensure commitments are met and customers are satisfied.
  • No telecommuting allowed.
Requirements
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience as a Commercial Sales Representative, Senior Commercial Account Security Representative, or a related occupation in security, IT, or technology sales.
  • Experience utilizing system integration (video surveillance, intrusion detection) and compliance with security standards.
  • Proficiency in integrating video systems with access control and intrusion detection for comprehensive security solutions.
  • Capability to work effectively on assigned sales territory using CRM tools for prospecting, pipeline development, and customer retention, providing accurate forecasting and pipeline management.
  • Skill in account planning, identifying opportunities, and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Knowledge of electronic security systems, including intrusion detection, access control, and integrated solutions.
  • Experience with fire alarm system design, installation, and maintenance in compliance with NFPA and local codes.
