DutiesDuring their careers, special agents carry out assignments in investigations and protection, potentially at multiple duty stations across the U.S. and abroad.

Requirements- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Possess a current valid driver's license.
- Carry and use a firearm; firearm proficiency is mandatory.
- Be at least 21 years old at application and less than 37 at conditional job offer, unless previous federal law enforcement service applies.
- Obtain and retain a Top Secret Clearance.
- Visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular, corrected to 20/20 in each eye.
- Hearing loss must not exceed 25 decibels in either ear in specified ranges.
- Submit to drug testing prior to appointment and random testing thereafter.
- Complete 13 weeks of training at FLETC and 18 weeks at James J. Rowley Training Center.
- Willingness to accept assignments nationwide and abroad.
- Register with the Selective Service System if required.
