- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following site-specific security-related procedures, access guidelines, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, suspicious activity, and/or policy violations.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols of academic buildings, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards, damage, and/or unsecured doors.
- Monitor and report irregular conditions such as alarms, door forced-open conditions, and/or equipment issues, and coordinate with campus personnel and/or local responders as directed.
- Complete detailed shift documentation including patrol observations, incident reports, and daily activity logs, and communicate pertinent updates through established reporting channels.
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
