** What You'll Do:*
* + Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control guidelines, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.

+ Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with on-site leadership and local emergency services as needed.

+ Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and security-related concerns.

+ Monitor entrances, corridors, and other assigned areas for unusual activity, policy violations, and/or hazards, reporting observations through the designated reporting process.

+ Control access where assigned by checking identification, issuing visitor directions, and following sign-in procedures consistent with location policies.

+ Provide courteous assistance with directions, escorts upon request when available, and general information to support a positive campus experience.

+ Complete detailed incident reports, shift logs, and patrol documentation, including observations of policy concerns and security-related issues.

+ Operate radios, phones, and/or other communication equipment to receive assignments, relay information, and request additional resources when needed.

+ Support campus events and special activities by managing foot traffic, assisting with queue control, and coordinating with event staff on security-related procedures.

+ Observe and report suspicious behavior, unsecured doors, lighting outages, and/or other conditions that may contribute to security-related concerns, following escalation protocols.

+ Participate in drills, briefings, and required training to stay current on post orders, emergency procedures, and location expectations.

+ Work in environments and conditions that may vary by assignment, including indoor and outdoor posts, day and/or night shifts, and walking/standing for extended periods.

* Minimum Requirements:

* + Have 2+ years' law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience.

+ Customer service experience is preferred.

+ Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

+ A guard card and/or license is preferred.

+ Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

+ Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
