Overview
Ryder is hiring a Senior Level Diesel Technician in Orlando, Florida— offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a Technician career you can feel good about.
Responsibilities- Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance.
- Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable.
- Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision; replaces defective components as instructed; works unsupervised on most tasks.
- Performs facility maintenance duties; interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of the complaint once assigned a task.
- Utilizes Shop Management System and electronic documentation; adheres to all safety, DOT, MOT guidelines.
- Acts as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels; demonstrates the ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents.
- Other support duties as required to support operations (e.g., Service Island support).
- Complete OEM diagnostic tool courses as required by location fleet mix; SBTIII trained within 180 days.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Vocational or technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred.
- Basic tools required; valid CDL CLASS A preferred.
- 3+ years relevant work experience preferred; all other certifications as required by location.
- Must have minimum 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment; knowledge of computer skills (PC, Windows).
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire; pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check including drug and alcohol verification for the last 3 years.
- Annual merit pay increases; on-the-job paid training; medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match; start at 30 days.
