Based in Orlando, Florida, our family-owned company operates across five locations in the state. For 40 years, we have provided top-tier service to grocery retailers, restaurants, and businesses throughout Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. We are currently hiring Apprentices to join our Construction team.
SummaryConstruction apprentices are responsible for being the ground employees for the refrigeration installation crew.
Essentials Duties- Able to read tape measure
- Identify and memorize materials by size, type and application
- Identify refrigeration tools and their use
- Operate powered tools
- Compile list of materials for pipefitter and pull from onsite inventory
- Glue and tape Armaflex and foam glass
- Unload trucks for equipment deliveries
- Perform case cleaning tasks
- Create and install hanger supports for overhead piping
- Keep onsite trailers clean and organized
- Learn basic principles of refrigeration installation
- Attain safety certifications
- Train in basic application for brazing copper
- Work safely and follow all safety rules
- Required Skills/
Qualifications: - Former experience in a construction trade
- Team player, able to take directives and have a good attitude
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be motivated.
- Ability to be flexible, working day shifts, night shifts and travel out of town
- Reliable transportation to meeting sites is necessary
- 6 months + in any construction trade
High School Diploma or GED and or combination equivalent of education.
Physical Work DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee will be required to stand and walk frequently. The employee will travel to jobsites. Employee will be required to use a ladder or equipment to reach heights to assist and inspect completed work.
Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
