Field Service Technician IV – Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical, software, network, and system failures using established procedures.
- Service and repair designated equipment to Canon standards and specifications.
- Prepare reports for analysis of product failure trends and service ability issues with necessary documentation.
- Provide efficient, responsive, and accurate Field/Shop/on‑site maintenance to meet and exceed customer demands.
- Maintain technical information, Field Service Reports, Expense Reports, and Canon property.
- Provide solutions for escalated technical and customer service‑related problem areas.
- Maintain complete working knowledge of multiple product lines at an expert level, including troubleshooting, diagnostics, workflow analysis, customer relations, and retention.
- General education and/or vocational training plus 4 to 6 years of related experience.
- Associate’s degree in electronics or electrical engineering (or equivalent).
- Direct experience working as a field technician.
- Ability to meet or exceed minimum performance standards for technical quality and customer satisfaction.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and willingness to travel.
- Ability to work in a 24/7 environment, including shift work and on‑call rotations.
- Capability to obtain security or customer clearances to enter customer premises.
- Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and be active more than 50% of the time (walking, standing, stooping/kneeling).
Base salary range: $29.50–43.73 hourly. This role is eligible for a transportation allowance. The position offers medical, dental, vision, 401(k) savings plan, profit sharing, success sharing, educational assistance, recognition programs, vacation, and more.
