About Your RoleThe role of a Generator Technician – HVAC & Temporary Power Systems is critical to the success of our field operations. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting temporary power generation and climate control systems used in event environments, temporary structures, and emergency response deployments.
As a Generator Technician, you will support the installation and operation of generators, electrical distribution systems, and HVAC equipment that power tents, temporary facilities, and field operations. This position plays a key role in ensuring our equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry safety standards and electrical regulations.
What’s a Typical Day Look Like?Typically, you will arrive at our Orlando warehouse between 7:00am and 8:00am to prepare equipment and receive your assignment for the day. Our teams frequently support multiple projects simultaneously, so your work location and responsibilities will vary. One day you may be preparing generators and electrical distribution equipment in the warehouse, while the next day you may be traveling to support a multi-day installation at an event site or temporary structure.
Our Rapid Response division supports government contractors during natural disasters and emergency response operations. In those situations, technicians may deploy to affected areas to install temporary power and climate control systems to support recovery efforts. Deployment schedules and hours may vary depending on project needs.
ImportantThis position requires approximately 75% travel nationwide, including deployments to event locations, construction sites, disaster response areas, and government installations. When assigned to out-of-town projects, the company will cover all related expenses, including transportation, lodging, and meals.
What You'll DoYour duties include, but are not limited to:
- Install, configure, and maintain portable and standby generator systems for temporary power applications
- Set up temporary electrical distribution systems, including panels, cabling, and grounding systems
- Install and configure HVAC units and climate control systems used in tents and temporary structures
- Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on generators, electrical systems, and HVAC equipment
- Preventative maintenance, including fuel system checks, cooling system inspections, and electrical testing
- Perform load bank testing and system performance checks on generators
- Assist with the mobilization, installation, and removal of power and climate control equipment at project sites
- Support tent and temporary structure installations as needed in coordination with field teams
- Maintain service records and equipment maintenance documentation
- Follow electrical safety procedures, including proper PPE, grounding, and lockout/tagout practices
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at both warehouse and field sites
- Follow all instructions from supervisors and implement operational plans as directed

- You have open availability, including evenings, weekends, and extended deployments when required
- You work well as part of a team and support field crews and leadership

- You are comfortable traveling and working in various environments across the country
- Valid Electrician License (Journeyman or equivalent preferred)
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience working with generators, electrical systems, HVAC systems, or temporary power solutions
