We are seeking a self‑starting, detail‑oriented Audio, Visual and Lighting System Install Technician with high level installation experience in commercial and live performance spaces to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining a wide range of audio‑visual and rigged lighting systems.
The ideal candidate takes immense pride in clean wire management, possesses sharp troubleshooting skills, and maintains a professional, client‑first demeanor on every job site.
Must have extensive installation experience. Audio engineering and/or show technicians are NOT what we are seeking.
Duties- Install, mount, and integrate AV equipment including flat‑panel displays, projection and rigged lighting systems, motorized screens, architectural speakers, and control hardware.
- Pull, route, fish, and terminate low‑voltage wiring (Cat5e/6, coax, speaker wire) in both new construction (rough‑in) and existing retrofit environments.
- Read and interpret manuals, schematics, prints, layouts, renderings, and other documentation to guide installations.
- Assist with the basic setup, testing, and calibration of networks, audio, video matrices, and control systems.
- Diagnosing and resolving system bugs, connectivity issues, or hardware failures on‑site. Willingness to call manufacture tech support as needed to troubleshoot.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or deemed necessary.
- Willingness to occasionally travel for a few nights based on the location of the jobsite.
- 3+ years of experience with AV, lighting and control system integration in commercial environments
- Strong knowledge of signal flow, termination techniques (RJ45, compression connectors, soldering) and AV system rigging
- Proficient with hand/power tools, multi‑meters, wire testers, and drywall fishing tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work on ladders, scissor and boom lifts, navigate crawlspaces/attics, and stand for extended periods.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and power requirements
- Knowledge of testing/debugging procedures for AV systems
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship - Punctual, organized, maintain cleanliness of tools, company vehicles, and jobsite.
- Must possess a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and a reliable way to get to work or job sites.
