The General Maintenance Technician II performs maintenance service and troubleshoots repairs in HVAC, plumbing, drywall, texture, tile, carpentry, painting, electrical, cabinetry, laminates, granite and appliance servicing at a skilled level. This position requires knowledge of procedures and safety measures associated with industry and company standards. The technician should have at least three years of experience in related fields, be familiar with a variety of concepts and procedures, and use judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
It involves teamwork, repair of guest villas, and facility operations.
- Troubleshoot and handle in‑house repairs regarding HVAC, ceramic tiles, painting, wallboard systems, carpentry, cabinetry, laminate replacement, and granite repairs.
- Assist guests and staff in resolving unit maintenance, housekeeping, and facility concerns, complaints, and questions.
- Utilize specific hand and power tools required to accomplish all phases of projects from rough‑in carpentry to trim cabinetry.
- Perform any other duties deemed necessary by the Facility Operations Manager or equivalent manager.
- High school diploma or equivalent in work experience or vocational training.
- At least three to four years of field experience; trade school background is a plus.
- Maintenance experience in a resort and/or hotel preferred.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Maintain an active American Red Cross CPR/AED rescue certification.
- Maintain a clean driving record and hold an active driver’s license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
- Must be able to work independently and troubleshoot problems to determine a course of action.
- Must have the ability to perform skilled work in finish/trim‑out construction.
- Specializations in drywall finishing, cabinetry, flooring, and laminate repair.
- Must have high‑quality skills in painting, tile repair, plumbing, and electrical.
- Must have working knowledge of hand and power tools and mechanical aptitude.
- Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.
