As an IoT Telemetry Field Service Technologist, you’ll be the hands, eyes, and ears of Otodata in the field—installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting connected devices at customer locations. You’ll blend technical know-how with customer care, ensuring every interaction is efficient, safe, and solution-focused. You’ll also keep a tight feedback loop with our customer service team so issues are resolved quickly and customers stay informed.
A day in the life Start your day reviewing assigned work orders and aligning your route to meet the schedule.
Arrive on-site, walk the customer through the plan, and complete installations, repairs, maintenance, or testing—always validating device performance and compliance.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues on the spot, documenting actions and outcomes in clear service reports.
Operate company vehicles safely and use field automation tools to streamline work and communication.
Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality service.
Collaborate with internal technical teams to share insights and drive continuous improvements.
Build positive relationships with customers, vendors, and partners through professional, solution-oriented interactions.
Offer constructive feedback to help refine installations, service delivery, and the overall customer experience.
What you’ll bring
Education
High school diploma or equivalent (required).Associate’s degree or relevant technical certification in IT, Electronics, or Engineering (preferred).Experience Hands-on background in field operations, technical support, or equipment installation/maintenance—ideally in a mobile technician capacity.
Strong troubleshooting capability with electronic devices and IoT systems.
Customer-facing experience with clear, professional communication and sound problem-solving.
Certifications & Requirements
CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar credentials (preferred, not required).Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required for operating company vehicles).No criminal or judicial record related to the services offered.
Telemetry or gas industry exposure is an asset.
Working geographic knowledge of the United States is an asset.
