A Snapshot of Your DayJoin Siemens Energy Generation Service Company (SEGSC) as the SEGSC’s Texas State licensed Master Electrician. In this role, you will manage and lead the SEGSC IBEW personnel in executing full turnkey high-voltage substation installation projects for SEGSC’s contract with Siemens Energy’s Grid Technology Division. In this field-based technical leadership role, you will provide expert electrical equipment installation guidance and compliance oversight across multiple projects, traveling regularly to project sites.
Collaborate closely with Grid Technology’s Project Managers, Site Managers, Site Superintendents, and Commissioning Engineers to ensure the safe and efficient execution of electrical work, from installation through commissioning. You will oversee SEGSC crews installing all of the Substation Switchyard and interfacing equipment and attend site meetings to coordinate tasks effectively.
- Serve as SEGSC’s electrical authority for turnkey substation projects, ensuring compliance with NEC, NESC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and local AHJ requirements including Texas Electrical Safety and Licensing Act;
Texas Occupations Code, Chapters 1305 & 51;
Texas Administrative Code Chapter 60; and the Electricians Administrative Rules. - Provide technical support to Grid Technology project teams by reviewing electrical drawings and offering input on constructability and installation methods for high-voltage substations.
- Support commissioning activities, including inspections, punch lists, and turnover documentation.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of standard work practices, installation standards, and safety procedures.
- Promote Siemens Energy’s strong safety culture, ensuring all work is planned and executed safely.
- Active Texas Master Electrician license or ability to obtain one.
- SEGSC will complete the Texas State Business Electrical Contractor License Application, and the successful candidate will sign Section 12 of the Application as the Master Electrician and the Master of Record.
- Travel and project oversight/advisory/problem solving responsibilities.
- Responsible for all of SEGSC’s IBEW electricians being appropriately licensed and performing NEC code compliant installation.
- Minimum of 10 years of electrical experience, particularly in high-voltage substations and EPC substation construction environments.
- Proven ability to support multiple projects simultaneously in a technical advisory/leadership capacity, with a willingness to travel to site projects.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, and safety management on high-voltage sites.
- Ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings and specifications.
