Position: Diesel Mechanic Experienced (DOT)

  • Hourly Pay $28.31 per hour.
  • Overtime paid after 40 hours per week.
  • Typical work week is 40-50 hours per week.

Work Schedule
  • Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday
  • Typically work 10:00pm-6:30am. Work until work is completed. Usually 8-12 hours per day.
  • Work schedule may change based on business needs; must be flexible with work schedule.
Responsibilities
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform preventative and as‑needed maintenance of diesel trucks and electric vehicles.
  • Properly operate the mobile service truck and attend to truck inventory.
  • Interpret and follow work orders and technical manuals.
  • Travel to locations to perform on‑site diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with management, providing them with detailed breakdowns of service requirements and costs.
  • Maintain schedules and document completed preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance; ensure work meets manufacturer"s specifications according to FMCSR (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations).
  • Maintaining parts and yard organization (with direction from operations management) to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of previous technical experience with Class 8 Commercial Tractors and Trailers.
  • Air Brake Systems Certification.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot repairs using diagnostic systems.
  • ASE Certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of air, electronic, braking, and suspension systems as well as general mechanical operation and/or light body repair.
  • Familiar with FHWA (Federal Highway Administration), and FMCSR (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations), BIT (Basic Inspection of Terminals) inspections.
  • High School Diploma or GED (Preferred).
  • Must be able to lift 70 pounds.
  • Candidate must provide his/her own tools.
