The Area Mech Woodworker is more than just a modern‑day carpenter. The role is responsible for keeping our parks and resorts safe and looking perfect so guests get the full enjoyment of our parks and resorts.
Our carpentry shops are first‑class and have the tools for efficiency and productivity. Safety is also front‑and‑center. The Area Mech Woodworker will perform scheduled and planned work, along with responding to immediate needs. This is a field‑service position that may involve work from elevated platforms and confined spaces throughout the Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property.
- Perform scheduled and planned work
- Respond promptly to trouble tickets at a resort, park or attraction
- Cast members may be required to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required
- Must be able to wear a respirator
- Valid Florida Driver’s License
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in carpentry
- Experience in all facets of the carpenter and cabinet maker trade including rough and finish carpentry, roofing, cabinetmaking and furniture repair
- Ability to operate carpentry shop and hand tools or equipment associated woodworking
- Experience installing windows, doors, interior and exterior trim, and erecting structures from ground level
- Experience reading and interpreting plumbing blueprints, material takeoffs, prints for permit submittals and construction prints
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices
Schedule Availability:
Our Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Schedules and start times are subject to vary.
