Job Summary
The Automotive Technician III is a senior-level role responsible for performing advanced diagnostics, heavy-line repairs, and specialized mechanical services on a variety of vehicles, with a focus on diesel engines. This position is purely focused on hands‑on technical work, tackling the most complex challenges including intricate electrical and drivability issues, diesel systems, and heavy‑duty components. The Technician III ensures all repairs are performed with precision, efficiency, and to the highest standard of quality.
Responsibilities- Focus on purely mechanical repair and diagnostics.
- Perform heavy‑line repair services, including engine and transmission work.
- Conduct complex drivability diagnostics and repairs.
- Diagnose and repair intricate electrical systems.
- Perform full diagnostics and repairs on auto HVAC systems.
- Complete in‑depth maintenance and repairs on diesel engines.
- Service heavy‑duty braking, steering, and suspension systems.
- Perform precise vehicle alignments.
- Handle welding and exhaust repair tasks as needed.
- Conduct detailed multi‑point inspections to identify all necessary repairs.
- Perform vehicle upfitting and modification for special projects.
- Examine customer vehicles to identify necessary repairs and maintenance.
- Document all services performed accurately and efficiently.
- Effectively utilize available technologies to diagnose and repair vehicles.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
- Participate in required training to stay current with new technology.
- Record all hours worked accurately in the company timekeeping system.

- Often exposed to hazardous situations, conditions, and equipment causing cuts, bruises, or minor burns.
- Work inside enclosed vehicles such as buses and vans; often cramped beneath vehicles requiring awkward positions.
- Regularly wear protective gear such as goggles or earplugs.
- Exposed to contaminants like antifreeze and chemical degreasers daily.
- Exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting and uncomfortable daily.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear.
- Must occasionally lift or move products and supplies up to 50 pounds.
- Seven or more years of job experience as an Automotive Service Technician.
- Diesel engine training and experience.
- Must have most tools to complete jobs.
- ASE certifications are a plus.
- DOT inspection license is a plus.
- MVI license is a plus. A/C certification is a plus.
- Class B CDL with passenger endorsement, or able to obtain within 6 months.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
