Job Summary
Mid‑Level Diesel Technician located in Orlando, Florida. Responsible for mechanical and electronic repairs of heavy‑duty vehicles, including routine preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and complex repairs.
Compensation & Benefits- Hourly pay: $30.00 per hour
- Certification bonus up to $700 for new ASE certification

- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard, preventive, and complex maintenance
- Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers when applicable
- Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Work unsupervised on most tasks
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine complaint nature once a task is assigned
- Utilize key functions of shop management system and electronic documentation
- Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Act as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
- Access and use internal and external maintenance documents
- Support operations as required, including Service Island support
- Obtain SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT
220) - Complete required OEM On‑Line diagnostic scan tool courses within 365 days
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
- Experience with routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems
- Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
- All other certification as required by location required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑duty and medium‑duty equipment
- Knowledge and ability to apply computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
- Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
