Position: Diesel Technician A (Master Technician)

As a Diesel Technician A (Master Technician) at Coastal Waste & Recycling, you'll be one of the most experienced members of our Fleet Maintenance team, helping keep the trucks and equipment that power our business safely on the road every day.

Your Role As a Diesel Technician A (Master Technician), you'll independently diagnose, repair, inspect, and maintain heavy-duty trucks, refuse vehicles, yellow iron, and other critical fleet equipment. You'll perform advanced diagnostics, complete complex repairs, mentor fellow technicians, and help maximize fleet reliability while maintaining the highest standards of safety and workmanship.

What You'll Do Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, engine, transmission, steering, suspension, and air brake system issues.

Perform preventive maintenance inspections to maximize fleet reliability and minimize equipment downtime.

Repair and maintain refuse trucks, vocational vehicles, trailers, yellow iron, and other heavy equipment.

Utilize OEM diagnostic software and electronic testing equipment to troubleshoot equipment failures.

Perform welding, fabrication, cutting, and metal repairs using steel and aluminum welding equipment.

Inspect completed repairs to ensure equipment meets company safety standards, DOT regulations, and manufacturer specifications.

Mentor Diesel Technician B and Diesel Technician C team members by sharing technical knowledge and best practices.

Partner with Fleet leadership to identify repair priorities and recommend long-term maintenance solutions.

Accurately complete repair orders, inspections, maintenance documentation, and parts records.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following OSHA regulations and company safety standards.

Respond to emergency breakdowns and field repairs as operational needs require.

What You'll Bring Five (5) or more years of heavy-duty diesel technician experience.

Medium/Heavy Truck Master ASE Certification.

Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, transmissions, suspension, steering, and air brake systems.

Experience repairing yellow iron and heavy equipment.

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Must provide and maintain a professional set of tools.

Class A CDL, Brake Certification, OEM certifications, and refuse industry experience are a plus.
