Field Service Technician IPGT Windows & Doors, part of MITER Brands
Location: Orlando, FL
Compensation: $20-25/HR
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift (6:00 AM start time)
Overtime: Mandatory overtime as needed based on business demands
PGT Windows & Doors, part of MITER Brands, is one of the nation’s leading manufacturers of high-quality windows and doors. We are seeking a customer-focused Field Service Technician I to join our Orlando team. This position is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys hands‑on work, problem‑solving, and delivering exceptional customer service.
The Field Service Technician I supports customers by diagnosing and resolving window and door product issues while representing the company in a professional manner at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Represent PGT and MITER Brands professionally during all customer interactions.
- Communicate directly with homeowners, builders, distributors, and other customers regarding service-related issues.
- Diagnose basic window and door product concerns and perform repairs under general supervision.
- Assist senior technicians with service calls, repairs, installations, and troubleshooting activities.
- Safely operate a variety of hand tools and power tools.
- Document service calls, observations, repairs performed, and outcomes using mobile devices such as iPads, laptops, or similar technology.
- Submit accurate and timely service reports through company service software.
- Ensure customer homes and job sites are left clean and returned to their original condition following service work.
- Pick up, deliver, and manage parts between warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and customer locations.
- Assist with maintaining proper inventory levels in service vehicles and warehouse locations.
- Inspect incoming parts for quality compliance and report non-conforming materials.
- Support warehouse organization and assist with unloading deliveries as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and properly functioning service vehicle.
- Work collaboratively with other Field Service Technicians on larger projects and service initiatives.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Basic knowledge of windows, doors, construction, installation, maintenance, or repair practices.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn product repair techniques.
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
- Customer service experience and strong interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook and Windows applications.
- Ability to use mobile devices and service software for documentation and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record in accordance with company policy.
- Previous experience in field service, construction, installation, maintenance, or repair.
- Experience working directly with homeowners and customers.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills.
- Aerial Lift Certification or the ability to obtain certification within six months of hire.
- Strong customer service mindset.
- Effective communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to read and follow technical instructions, work orders, and repair documentation.
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Dependable, self‑motivated, and safety‑focused.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials, tools, and equipment as needed.
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely operate service equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
- Field‑based role servicing residential, commercial, and construction locations.
- Frequent interaction with homeowners, builders, distributors, and internal teams.
- Regular use of mobile devices and service software for scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
