Job Summary

Fortis Fire & Safety's National Accounts team is seeking skilled, self-motivated Fire Alarm Technicians to install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, and service fire alarm and life safety systems on a high-profile, large-scale program. This is a rare opportunity to put your name on project work for a major, national client. This is a demanding, fast-paced role built for technicians who take pride in hard work: the scale of this program means significant hours and a real commitment, and we're looking for people ready to hit the ground running and keep pace.

Due to the scale and timeline of the work, these are priority openings, and candidates who can mobilize quickly are preferred. This is significant, sustained, high-profile work. Travel within Florida may be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Install, program, inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm and life safety systems in accordance with NFPA 72 and applicable local and state codes
  • Troubleshoot and repair system deficiencies, including panels, initiating devices, and notification appliances
  • Perform scheduled inspections and functional testing, documenting results accurately
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications
  • Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) as needed
  • Maintain accurate service records, reports, and required compliance documentation
  • Ensure all work meets company quality standards and safety protocols
  • Travel to job sites across assigned service areas as required
Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven, hands-on experience as a Fire Alarm Technician (this is not an entry-level role)
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and Florida fire and life safety codes
  • Experience with major fire alarm platforms (e.g., Notifier, Silent Knight, EST, Fire-Lite, or similar)
  • State of Florida licensure/certification as required for the role (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to meet company driving eligibility requirements, including holding a valid driver's license and maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Ability to travel and, at times, respond to urgent project needs
  • Willingness and ability to work extended hours as project demands requi
