Sciens Building Solutions IS seeking an experienced
Security Service Technicianwithprogramming, troubleshooting, and repair capabilities and experience. This position will work closely with our service team and clients to ensure our critical life safety systems are repaired in an efficient manner to maintain their overall performance. This is a key position for our growing team and requires attention to detail in all aspects of system troubleshooting and repair. Customer and employee interface requires a high degree of effective human relations.
Communication skills, both written and verbal, are important elements of the position.

Security Service Technicianwithprogramming, troubleshooting, and repair capabilities and experience. This position will work closely with our service team and clients to ensure our critical life safety systems are repaired in an efficient manner to maintain their overall performance. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (and doing well!)
- Troubleshoot and repair security systems including analog, IP, addressable, and networked solutions.
- Program and maintain intermediate equipment and systems including intrusion detection, video surveillance, asset protection, environmental detection, holdup/duress, integrated systems and equipment related to the alarm monitoring station.
- Use a variety of troubleshooting tools to analyze systems and detect fault conditions.
- Produce repair reports in accordance with best practices for customer acceptance and billing information.
- Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity.
- Responsible for complex troubleshooting and effective resolution.
- Responsible for programming systems via laptop computers.
- Assist in the oversight of project and vehicle inventory.
- Provide support, guidance, and expertise to other technicians.
- Take ownership of onsite projects including safety, quality, and performance.
- Train and develop other Service Technicians on equipment and company policies and procedures.
- Provide technical support to end users and technicians when required.
- Comply with industry standard procedures and Sciens safety programs/policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two to five(2-5) years of experience in a technician role within the building security systems industry.
- Knowledge of current security systems including access control, IP video, and voice and data systems.
- Intermediate understanding of security system integrity and how to troubleshoot for circuit opens, shorts, or ground conditions.
- Independent ability to program multiple manufacturer's advanced system product platform(s)/graphical systems.
- Ability to program and troubleshoot mid-range to complex security systems.
- Ability to demonstrate proper operation of equipment and control units to customers and explain how it is to be used, and how to respond to any system signals.
- Intermediate knowledge of NPFA 70 and 731 for testing and maintenance of security systems.
- State, local, contract, and/or product specific certifications determined by the business.
- Knowledge of state fire procedures, filing, and requirements.
- Ability to read fire and security system design drawings.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to work independently with some supervision.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and able to obtain OSHA 10 certification.
