Basic Qualifications

• BS or MS degree from accredited university in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or related major
• Experience with C++ and object-oriented design
• Experience with software development on Linux or similar preemptive operating systems
• Experience with use of software configuration management systems e.g., Git, Git Hub, Git Lab, SVN
• Ability to obtain an Interim Secret security clearance prior to start

By applying for this role, you will be considered for opportunities within Lockheed Martin's Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) division. This is a Pipeline Req; the actual job responsibilities will fall within one of our functional organizations. Multiple opportunities may exist at various levels.

As the Embedded Software Engineer you will be responsible for the development of mission‑critical embedded software across multiple programs.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Design, development, and integration of C/C++ embedded applications.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute software development activities and schedules.
• Develop, document, test, and debug complex algorithms and logical solutions.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure seamless system integration.
• Identify and resolve program errors, produce operating instructions, and maintain comprehensive documentation.

• Familiarity with Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA) design concepts
• Familiarity with containerized development and deployment environments
• Familiarity with Data Distribution Service (DDS)
• Familiarity with Yocto OS development

Onsite Full‑time:
The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from a standard 40‑hour week over five days while others may be condensed. Condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

4x10‑hour day, 3 days off per week

This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. citizen for consideration.
