• Develop forward‑looking strategies in collaboration with technical leaders, making core decisions on software development, product technical design and architecture.
• Provide technical mentorship within the engineering teams based on a solid understanding of technology, organizational, and market evolutions.
• Contribute to engineering from design to implementation, solving complex technical challenges around productivity and velocity.
• Document and share knowledge, cross‑train, coach, and mentor Senior Software Engineers, Software Engineers, and others.
• Adhere to all assigned Standard Work and role responsibilities.
• Participate in daily and weekly meetings, code reviews, and retrospectives to continuously improve standards and best practices.
• Research and evaluate innovative technologies, tools and solutions that give CITY Furniture a competitive advantage.

Additional duties may be assigned as needed, beyond those listed in the responsibilities. Changing business conditions may trigger changes to job responsibilities (i.e., COVID‑19).

• Preferred B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent 4‑year degree, or 9+ years of equivalent work experience.
• Minimum five (5)+ years of experience in software engineering/development or a related field.
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Lean, Kanban, etc.).
• Experience managing development and delivery of software products on time and within budget.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate.
• Experience leading diverse teams (Dev, Dev Ops, QA, DBA) and using third‑party resources.
• 4+ years as technical lead on a software engineering team.
• Day‑to‑day awareness of a Monday‑Friday work schedule, with occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends, and up to 5% travel.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
• Experience architecting highly available, decoupled, scalable systems for high traffic loads.
• Experience with High Jump / Infios / Körber / Accellos – a must.
• Experience with automated testing platforms and unit tests.
• Experience with development/configuration tools such as Advantage Architect and Page Editor.
• Proficiency in Java, SQL, or C#.
• Experience with SSIS data integration.
• Experience with PaaS / Serverless computing – AWS Lambda.
• Knowledge of containers and microservices.
• Experience with cloud platforms: AWS, IBM Cloud (Bluemix), Docker, etc.
• Database experience: DB2, Mongo
  
  DB, MySQL, AWS EMR, Dynamo
  
  DB, Hadoop, SQL Server.
• Private cloud experience: VMware HCX, Hyper‑V, VMware VIO, Open Stack.
• Linux operating systems – Ubuntu, Red Hat, and AWS.
• Knowledge of iPaaS integration tools (e.g., Webmethod).
• Knowledge of frontend frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js, Shift iOS) and RPG programming a plus.
• Certifications recommended: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, TOGAF, ITIL Master.
• Valid driver’s license required.
