Job Description
Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a Software Engineer to support the F35 Pilot Training Devices Program in Orlando, Florida. The role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop design solutions, operational scenarios, system requirements, and architecture for the software lifecycle. The candidate will also support Dev Sec Ops activities and apply Model Based System Engineering techniques.
Responsibilities- Continuously contribute to the creation of design solutions that address complex engineering problems across the full software cycle.
- Develop operational scenarios based on the customer's goals and contractual requirements.
- Develop system requirements and architectures to ensure customer needs and contracts are appropriately translated into the product development cycle.
- Incrementally develop product design and delivery optimization requirements, acting as a core member of a multi‑disciplinary team that supports software development and integration activities for the program.
- Leverage Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) to support the development of functional, architectural, and detailed designs, and incrementally develop designs to provide added or updated functionality based on operational scenarios and customer requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Software lifecycle experience with a software‑intensive system.
- Experience with Object Oriented Programming and Git Lab.
- Must be a U.S. citizen; a government security clearance is required.
- Working knowledge of C++, Linux, Windows, and Python/bash scripting.
- Working knowledge of Agile, automation, the Atlassian tool suite, Docker, Ansible, Nexus, AWS, Kubernetes, Vagrant, Packer, and Terraform.
- Working knowledge of Model Based Engineering (MBE), DOORS, Enterprise Architect, and Rhapsody.
- Prior aircraft or flight training and simulation experience (e.g., F35, F16, F22, C130).
- Experience working with multiple F‑35 engineering teams, including mission system, weapon system, and I&T.
- Familiarity with current F‑35 Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) and the pacing threat that drives employment techniques.
- Familiarity with F‑35 Pilot Vehicle Interface (PVI) conventions.
- Working knowledge of the JSF Mission Planning Environment (MPE).
- Familiarity with tactical datalinks, weapon systems, communication systems, and sensors.
- Experience on large‑scale flight simulation systems.
- Demonstrated experience with High‑Level Architecture (HLA), Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS), or related simulation technologies.

Compensation and BenefitsAnnual Base Salary: $62,700 – $110,630 (non‑major metropolitan areas) and $72,200 – $125,005 (major metropolitan areas) for applicable states in California, Massachusetts, and New York. The salary will be adjusted based on work location.
