IOS Engineer, Field App

Zaras is building the operating layer for the trades — one record that carries a service business from first call to deposit cleared. Our team is small, hands‑on, and field‑first. We operate with a flat structure. All employees are expected to contribute directly to the work. Leadership is given to those who show initiative and consistently deliver.

Build the field app that lives in the truck — offline-first, optimistic sync, and forgiving of bad signal. You will spend real time with technicians and ship to a small device fleet weekly.

• Own the iOS field app end to end — sync, UI, and crash budget.
• Design the optimistic write path against a queue that resolves on reconnect.
• Instrument battery, network, and rendering on real devices.
• Ride along with technicians at least once a quarter.
• 4+ years shipping production iOS apps in Swift.
• Experience with Core Data, GRDB, or an equivalent on-device store.
• Comfort with networking, retries, and conflict resolution.
• Willingness to travel quarterly for field work.

• Built or maintained an offline‑first product at scale.
• Experience with SwiftUI in production.
• Worked on tools used by non‑office staff (drivers, technicians).
• Comfort reading Type Script to debug an API contract.
