The Lockheed Martin Artificial Intelligence Center (LAIC) is seeking a highly skilled leader to head the AI Consulting portfolio, a role that requires a unique blend of technical expertise in software engineering and AI/ML, as well as strong business acumen and communication skills. • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities and develop AI solutions.
• Model complex business and engineering problems using machine learning and feature engineering techniques.
• Deploy AI capabilities and track projects through to completion.
• Implement best technical practices from the fields of machine learning and software engineering.
• Create knowledge materials to disseminate best practices to other AI and data science teams.
• Meet with data science leaders to teach and discuss best practices.

You are a highly skilled leader with a unique blend of technical expertise in software engineering and AI/ML, as well as strong business acumen and communication skills. You have hands‑on experience in developing and deploying AI solutions, and are able to collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify business opportunities and develop associated statistical models.

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Programming knowledge and experience with machine learning and software engineering.
• Excellent communication skills to understand business needs and communicate the value of AI models.
• Business focus and creative thinking to quickly cycle hypotheses through the discovery phase of projects.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and drive projects through to completion.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with at least 5 years of professional experience. Alternatively, a Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience.
• Significant experience in applying machine learning techniques to business problems (natural language processing, deep learning, anomaly detection, reinforcement learning).
• Experience with Python, Typescript, or compiled languages such as C++, Golang, etc.
• Experience with developing software and software engineering best practices.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Senior level (5+ years of experience).
