About the Role

We are seeking an emerging Image Processing (IP) Engineer to join a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers within Missiles and Fire Control. The engineer will support various contracts and IRADs.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Design, develop, and deploy embedded algorithms that support unresolved (point‑source) and resolved target detection and tracking.
  • Develop, verify, and validate complex models and simulations that use match filters, convolutional neural networks, and other techniques to detect targets of interest.
  • Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements.
  • Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities that support ground and flight test efforts including Hardware‑In‑The‑Loop activities.
  • Collaborate with small teams of engineers and algorithm developers on programs at various stages of product development.
  • Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and external customers.

This position is located in Orlando, Florida. Relocation is possible.

Basic Qualifications
  • BS in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, applied mathematics, or a similar STEM degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Interim clearance required to start; must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Fluent in MATLAB, Python, and C++.
  • Experience solving problems and relevant algorithm development in resolved and unresolved target detection image processing.
  • Experience with low‑signature target detection and automatic target recognition/identification.
  • Experience with image correction algorithms, scene generation, and non‑uniformity correction.
  • Exposure to electro‑optical phenomenology and optical system analysis as it applies to image/signal processing.
  • Experience implementing and debugging image‑processing algorithms in a real‑time environment and processing instrumented real‑time system data.
  • Proficiency in validating C++ algorithm simulations and hardware models with real‑time data collections.
Desired Skills
  • Experience with linear algebra software packages.
  • Strong programming skills suitable for C++ development in a Linux environment.
  • Experience deploying algorithms that satisfy real‑time performance requirements.
  • Knowledge of electro‑optical/infrared detection technology, optics, and principles of radiometry.
  • Familiarity with clutter rejection techniques.
  • Knowledge and experience with modeling and simulation of EOIR systems.
  • Familiarity with deployable AI/ML topologies as they relate to target detection.
  • Active Secret clearance.
Security Clearance

Secret clearance required. Must be a U.S. citizen. Clearance level:
Secret with investigation or CV date within 5 years.
