Software Engineer
Location: Orlando, Florida, United States
Job Summary: Disney Parks, Experiences and Products is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a passion for building world‑class products and enabling our businesses to be future ready. We are looking for an engineer who has full stack programming experience and is enthusiastic to build and maintain new applications, improving our Guest and Cast experiences.
What You’ll Do:- Implement reliable, high-throughput, low‑latency, scalable and well‑documented code to tackle sophisticated algorithms
- Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and partners to propose extensible, reusable and performant solutions
- Experiment and develop proof of concept with relevant new technologies
- Work independently to analyze and solve issues as an individual contributor
- Troubleshoot and fix problems reported in lower and production environments
- Write unit and component tests to ensure delivery of high‑quality code
- Monitor and proactively improve production run quality of applications
- Work in a scrum team and provide daily updates
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Domain knowledge in multiple technical and business areas
- 3+ years of software engineering, analysis and design with full software development lifecycle experience
- 3+ years of Java, Spring Framework, SQL (AuroraDB) and No
SQL-based databases (MongoDB), writing complex SQL queries and building highly scalable distributed applications and web services - Exposure to GraphQL / Graph DBs
- 3+ years of Internet technologies and microservices architecture experience
- 3+ years of developing cloud native applications, preferably in AWS
- Experience with Docker / Kubernetes
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills
- Strong understanding of object‑oriented programming and design principles
Skills:
- Experience in the commerce space and products / pricing / inventory domains
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar field or related equivalent experience
Compensation: The hiring range for this position in Orlando, FL is $111,900 to $150,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
