Salary: $15.00 - $16.00 Hourly.
Job SummaryAssist the Center Manager in the delivery of services for a Parks and Recreation after-school and/or summer program to ensure that the educational, behavioral and financial objectives of the program and the needs of the staff, youth, families and public are met. This position performs specialized work in athletic programming under the direction of the FPR and/or Recreation Center Manager. Responsibilities include officiating or supervising a variety of athletic activities while ensuring the safety of the after-school and/or summer program and facility.
Assist with daily game-day operations to provide an enjoyable and safe athletic experience for middle school aged youth, supporting individual and team skill development, sportsmanship and overall growth. Work may be outdoors with exposure to heat, insects and weather conditions. Evening, weekend and holiday work may be required. May assist with driving a van to pick up kids from school for the after-school program as needed.
Oversee Recreation staff to ensure programming needs are met.
- Assist the Center Manager in the delivery of services for an after-school and/or summer program within Parks and Recreation.
- Officiate or supervise a variety of athletic activities while ensuring safety for participants and the facility.
- Assist Manager with daily game-day operations to provide a safe and enjoyable athletic experience for middle school aged youth.
- Support youth in learning individual and team skills, sportsmanship and overall skill development.
- Work outdoors when required and adapt to environmental conditions.
- Support driving duties as needed to transport youths to and from school for the program.
- Oversee Recreation staff to ensure programming needs are met.
High School Diploma or equivalent, plus some knowledge or experience in an organized educational, recreation or leisure services field working in activities such as educational programs, youth sports, aquatics, cultural and therapeutic arts, health and fitness, community centers, etc.
required; an equivalent combination of related training and experience. Applicant must possess a valid Florida Driver's License. First Aid/CPR certification is preferred. Certification by the Florida Recreation and Park Association is desired but not required.
THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION WITH NO GUARANTEE OF A CERTAIN NUMBER OF HOURS AND NO BENEFITS. THIS POSITION INVOLVES WORKING ON A TEMP/SEASONAL CONTRACT WHICH CAN BE RENEWED ANNUALLY BASED ON PERFORMANCE AND BUSINESS NEED.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelors degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a masters degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
